Congratulations to Charlotte Pradel for finishing her Master’s Thesis!
Congratulations to Charlotte for completing her Master’s thesis entitled “Design and Construction of a Dexterous Anthropomorphic Index Finger (DEXTER) Using a Tendon-Based Control Approach.”
In her master’s thesis, Charlotte developed a prototype index finger that can be controlled by seven muscle-imitating motors for flexion and extension. Flexion and extension are achieved by pulling and releasing tendon-like filaments attached to the index finger like human tendons. During the development process, she iteratively created various 3D models and printed them until the exact range of motion of the human index finger was achieved.
We thank Charlotte for her great work! We are excited to see the full bionic hand she will develop during her PhD in our lab. We wish her good luck and great success in her studies!
